Hardscaping from Hilltop Service
Most patio and wall problems start below the surface. We excavate, lay and compact the base before a single paver or block goes down, so the finished work doesn't heave or sink after a few winters.
Because we run our own excavation, the digging, grading and stone work stay with one company.
What's included
Paver patios
Patios sized to how you use the yard, built on a dug-out, compacted gravel base with edge restraint, so the pavers stay level through freeze and thaw.
Walkways and steps
Paths and steps that connect the driveway, doors and yard, built on the same compacted base so they don't heave or settle.
Retaining walls
Block walls that hold back a slope, make level yard space or raise a planting bed, with drainage behind the wall so water doesn't push it over.
Fire pits
Built-in fire pits and seating areas on a solid base, sized for how many people you have over.
Questions
Why do some patios sink?
Usually the base was too thin or not compacted. We dig out and compact a gravel base in layers before setting pavers.
Do you build retaining walls?
Yes. Call 610-562-3124 to talk through your site.
